A New Heaven and a New Earth

Dear Lord, help me to be renewed by Your Word today. Amen

"Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away ... Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new" (Revelation 21:1, 5).

God is in the regenerating business. When we are saved, He makes us new creations in Him and says of us, "behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). We aren't annihilated, but regenerated. He's going to apply that same redeeming method to this world when He comes again.

There is going to be a great meltdown of this present earth and atmosphere (2 Peter 3:10-13). God will take that material and make with it new heavens and a new earth. Every stain of sin will have been burned away and we will live upon an earth that is renewed, rejuvenated, cleansed, and restored!

Without the presence of sin, God can dwell freely with us (Revelation 21:3). He will walk and talk with us, just as He did with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Just think of the things that will have passed away. There will be no more funerals, graves or hospitals. There won't be any more broken homes, broken hearts, or broken hopes. There will be no more crying, sighing, or dying. All the residue of pain and sorrow will be forever abolished.

Instead, the One Who is all in all will see to it that we are completely fulfilled. Every yearning God has placed in our hearts will at last be met. We will have fellowship and intimacy with God - we will know Him as He knows us. We are going to inherit all things. We'll finally experience what we were created to enjoy before sin messed up the earth.

Any time you see sorrow, heartbreak, sickness or pain, behind it all is the curse of sin upon this world. But the evil things of this world and the3threat of sin will be gone forever. The great I AM will accomplish the extreme makeover of all ages ... for He truly makes ALL things new!
