"Intercessory Prayer (continued)
"All prayer" is the whole of eternal prayer: - prayers which were ordained by God to be uttered by the Holy Spirit through willing vessels throughout the ages.
"Praying at all times - on every occasion,
In every season - in the Spirit,
with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty,
to that end keep alert and watch
with strong purpose and perseverance,
interceding in behalf of all the saints." (Ephesians 6:18).
The Godhead ordained in the Counsels of Eternity Past that the Holy Spirit would be the Anointing Power that energized the Father's Purpose in the Son, Christ Jesus our Lord. It was also decided, for reasons beyond our understanding, that one of the means ordained to being about God's Full Purpose would be prayer, prayer prayed in the Spirit, prayer that is energized by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, "all Prayer" is the whole of eternal prayer, prayers which were ordained by God to be uttered by the Holy Spirit through willing vessels at the proper time, and in the exact season, and in the right measure, which when they are uttered, whether in the past, present, or the future these prayers are destined of God to bring about His Eternal Purpose In the Christ. These are prayers that defeat the enemy, prepare the way for the lost to be saved, and build up believers in the most holy faith. These are prayers that will accomplish God's End through His Way and bring forth the New Creation in which Christ is ALL, and IN ALL. These are eternal prayers prayed by the Holy Spirit Himself through willing vessels, earthen vessels, who make intercession in the Spirit throughout the ages according to the will of God:
And Moses said: "Now therefore, I pray Thee, if I have found grace in Thy sight, shew me now Thy Way, that I may know Thee ..." (Exodus 33:13).
And Joshua: "fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto Him, 'What saith my Lord unto His servant?' " (Joshua 5:14).
And Samuel prayed: "Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way... " (1 Samuel 12:23).
And David uttered: "The Lord is my Shepherd..." (Psalm 23:1).
And Esther declared: "and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish" (Esther 4:16).
And Peter entreated: "But the God of all grace, Who hath called us unto His Eternal Glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever" (1 Peter 5:10, 11.).
And John said: "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, saying, "I Am Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last ..." (Revelation 1:10, 11).
Beloved, the above prayers are portions of Eternal Prayers which have continued to produce God's End through His Way throughout the ages. Let us realize that we too have joined that great company of intercessors who have participated as willing vessels in the Throne Ministry of our Lord. We too have become vessels used by God through the energy of His Holy Spirit to speak out from the Throne the Eternal Words that are designed to bring about His Full Purpose In The Christ. Eternal Words prayed in and by the Holy Spirit, Eternal words which are always in accordance with the Written Word of God. Thus, when these words are uttered in the Spirit, they become a living and vital force of God to bring about His End through His Way.
