"Lord, may the truths You reveal to me today lead me to a deeper worship of You."
"I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, saying, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last," ... Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band." (Revelation 1:10-13)
The apostle John had not seen Jesus for some 60 to 65 years. That's how long it had been since the Ascension. Yet while John was on the island of Patmos, Jesus appeared to him in all His heavenly glory. And how did John see Him then? John saw Him still as a man.
It's important for us to see Jesus as John saw Him, because our worship is going to be no better than our vision of the Lord Jesus Christ. So we need to have this view of our resurrected, ascended, glorified Savior. And we need to understand that He is the risen Christ with undiminished humanity.
Now, when Jesus stepped out of heaven and was born through the portals of a virgin's womb at Bethlehem, He took upon Himself humanity. And He still has that humanity today. When we get to heaven, we're going to see the man Christ Jesus.
Heaven is a real place and Christ is there in a glorified body that was raised from the dead. He did not take human form only to be here on earth and then lay it aside. He is still a man. And when we see Him in eternity, we will see the nail prints in His hands. That's how real the Son of God will be in glory.
Just think about that - the Lord Jesus Christ took our humanity, and He will forever be like us. And when we see Him, we will forever be like Him!
