I Heard A Voice From Heaven

Lord, give me the ability to take these truths and apply them to my life today. Amen

"... but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them." The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven and swore by Him who lives forever and ever ... that there should be delay no longer." (Revelation 10:4-6).

The apostle John has been diligently and obediently writing all the things God has been showing him in this mighty vision. All of a sudden, he's instructed not to write. There were seven peals of thunder in heaven (Revelation 10:3) which bore a message God did not want recorded.

Certain things about prophesy we will never know until they come to pass. Some things are too terrifying to reveal, others too magnificent for description. It's amazing how many people will race their theological motors trying to explain what the Bible doesn't explain. We don't have to know the answer to everything! Some things we just aren't meant to understand, this side of heaven.

But we can take hope that  we'll understand them someday, because a day is coming when the mysteries of Go will be finished (v. 7). All of the things God has promised and prophesied will be fulfilled, and mystery will become manifestation.

This is in fact the immutable message the angel of the Lord is delivering in these passages. The Lord Jesus lifts His hand and says in a solemn oath that there will be no more delay. God swears by Himself because He can swear by no greater (Hebrews 6:13). The things written in this book will surely come to pass. If He didn't keep His word, He would cease to be
God. So by God's very existence, these things are going to happen

God is saying that this world has had its chance. People have been given every opportunity to repent. Now history is coming to a close. It is time for all the mysteries of God to be revealed.
